ABOUT ME

My name is Sonja Christoph and I’m a Lead/ 2D & 3D Artist and Schoolism Instructor based in Malmo, Sweden.  I love building worlds and telling stories.

I’ve worked in Film, TV, Commercials, Theme Park Rides, VR and AAA Games for nearly 20 years now. Before I became an artist I worked in Hollywood as an Assistant Director. In 2009 we received an Emmy for contributions to the award winning directing for a drama series ER “And In The End”.

It wasn’t until the writer’s strike in 2008 that I discovered my love for VFX and decided to change my career.

Since then I have worked at Industrial Light & Magic, Rhythm & Hues, the Mill, ILMxLab, Ubisoft, IO Interactive and Twin Suns Corp.
During my time at ILMxLab I got the chance to work on the Oscar award winning VR experience “Carne Y Arena”, which was directed by Alejandro Inarritu.

I love telling stories and creating places I would want to explore. When I’m not behind a computer I’m probably behind my camera, traveling and exploring the world.

Some of my other favorite things to do is to learn new things and to help others. More recently I’ve used that passion to start teaching at Schoolism. I have released one course already, my Introduction to Blender course and I’m currently working on another. Stay tuned!!
